Paintball is a pretty recent sport that has grown exponentially in the past several years. As more people start to get into and compete in this high-energy pastime, organized games and scenarios become larger and more complicated. It is probably better to play with other amateurs if you are one yourself because experience carries a lot of weight in paintball. Professional participants commonly join teams to compete in more intense paintballing encounters. Once amateur competitors have learned many of the basic strategies and techniques of paintball and the equipment they can consider going into one of the more serious events. Every competitor and team has to form the best technique for themselves through experience and trial and error.250 to 300 feet is the range the average paint gun can shoot. They can get realy expensive, but there are special paintguns that have a lot better range and accuracy. It is harder for a competitor to make steady shots because a paintball is not a solid projectile. To have the best chance at eliminating an opposing competitor you should move in as close as possible without endangering yourself. Players will be forced to take cover out in the field if you fire at them and pin them down. This will keep them unable to locate you as you move in on them. You may want to spread to either side and change your viewpoint as you move to their location. This will let you flank the enemy from the side. To keep from endangering yourself and effectively eliminate other participants it is generally best to avoid direct encounters.Taking cover and using the natural surroundings as a defense is an important aspect of the sport of paintballing. Terrain is for both cover and camouflage when competing in surroundings like the woods. It is not uncommon for novice players to make the error of remaining in one position for too long and exposing their location. They may eliminate one or two of the opposite team but allow for the others to go around and flank them. It is a wise move to stay moving as much as possible and to remain unseen for as long as possible. This will give a player the advantage of stealth. Many players nowadays are getting gilly suits to give themselves the edge on the playing field and in organized games. The suit's special camouflaging properties make it really difficult for competitors to spot someone in a ghillie suit who is staying still to blend in with their surroundings. Participants who want better mobility and field of vision by not wearing a ghillie suit may prefer a technique of speed and attack to make up for their disadvantage of being easily seen. When attempting to take cover in the game of paintball, position is very important to consider for a defensive strategy. In situations where they need to be able to move quickly, participants will discover that staying standing gives them the most dexterity. Kneeling or laying behind a big object like a stone or tree will give a player substantial camouflage, but will limit what they can see around their peripheral vision. Opposing participants might be able to gain the edge if you allow them to come upon you. Bushes and high grass have some camouflage and some visibility, making them great locations for both surprise melees and defensive positions. A player will find it hard to escape quickly if he has to go between two barriers to stay under cover and will find their dexterity and stealth go down exponentially.
