When amateur players have learned many of the basic strategies and techniques of paintballing and the equipment they can think about going into one of the more extreme competitions. It is harder for a competitor to make consistent shots because a paintball is not a solid projectile. To get the best chance at eliminating an opposing player you should move in as close as possible without endangering yourself. It is a wise idea for players to hold opponents behind objects out in the playing field so they will have to take cover. This will let you walk up on them while making sure they are unable to locate exactly where you are. As you continue the advance to their location, you may want to move to either side to change your angle. This will let you flank the opponent from the side. To keep from endangering yourself and efficiently eliminate other competitors it is usually best to stay away from face to faceengagements.Taking cover and implementing the natural terrain as a defense is an important aspect of the game of paintball. When playing in surroundings like the woods, terrain is for shelter and camouflage. Staying in one place for too long and endangering their location is a common mistake for a lot of amateur competitors. They may eliminate one or two of the opposite team but allow for the others to sneak around and flank them. To remain hidden as long as possible is a wise move as well as trying to keep on the move as much as possible. This will give a player the advantage of surprise. Now, to give themselves an advantage on the playing field and in organized events, a lot of players are buying ghillie suits. The suit's special camouflaging aspects make it very difficult for competitors to spot someone in a ghillie suit who is staying still to blend in with their environment. Participants who want greater mobility and field of vision by not wearing a ghillie suit may choose a technique of dexterity and attack to make up for their disadvantage of being seen.For strategy, position is extremely important when attempting to take cover in paintball. Standing up will give a competitor more mobility by letting them move quickly in scenarios where they need to. Kneeling or laying behind a big object like a rock or tree will give a player substantial camouflage, but will limit what they can see around their peripheral vision. This might allow for opposing participants to sneak up and gain the edge on you. High brush and bushes are great for both surprise attacks and defensive positions because they offer both cover and some visibility. A paintballer will find it hard to escape quickly if he must go between two objects to stay under cover and will discover their dexterity and stealth go down exponentially.
